ISAIAH cartoons

chapters 1-40

EAGLE WINGS cartoons (Is 40:31) They that wait upon the Lord will mount up with wings like Eagles.

Isaiah 40:31 is that well-known verse that offers hope and encouragement for us flightless humans.

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint." (NIV)

So encouraging to place our trust and hope in God, and of course accept no substitutes from this world. It suggests that those who rely on the Lord will receive renewed strength and vitality, enabling them to overcome challenges and persevere through difficult times. The challenge I find sometimes is to fully put my trust and hope in God. It all sounds so easy and obvious to do, but then I try trusting myself and then my eagle flight either is grounded or I crash and burn captured in a glorious Back Pew cartoon. BUT, when I trust the Lord, the imagery of soaring like eagles has a sense of freedom and elevation, and the promise of not growing weary or faint highlights the sustaining power of faith even when I am physically, mentally, and emotionally tired. Isaiah 40:31 serves as a reminder of God's faithfulness and the strength that comes from a deep relationship with Him.

Isaiah 41-55

Isaiah 41-55 focus on themes of comfort, hope, and God's sovereignty, particularly in relation to the Israelites during their exile. It is easy to hijack these verses ( I believe with God’s full approval) to fit my own needs for forgiveness, joy, and wonder when considering our great God.

I especially love Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the Earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The Book of Isaiah is often referred to as a miniature Bible because it contains 66 chapters, paralleling the 66 books of the Bible. It includes significant themes such as prophecy, judgment, and hope, particularly in its Messianic prophecies found in Chapter 40 and beyond.
